Tartu International School offers homeschooling families who wish to take an active role in their children’s education and provide meaningful learning experiences at home. Parents are responsible for organizing daily learning and ensuring that their child meets the required learning outcomes.
What we offer:
- An English-language framework aligned with the IB approach
- An individual curriculum, developed in cooperation with parents
- Three planning, evaluation and reflection meetings per year
- Opportunities to join our international school community (events, study trips, workshops, extracurriculars)
- Monthly online or in-person pedagogical support for parents
- Textbooks, workbooks, and other materials to meet curriculum standards
Our Expectations from Families:
- High motivation to provide a consistent, supportive learning environment
- Commitment to offering an education equivalent to in-school learning
- Clear information about learning methods and weekly study schedules
- A digital learning portfolio documenting the child’s work (projects, worksheets, art, etc.)
Admission Process
- Admission interview – The school assesses the family’s readiness and shared educational values
- Homeschooling application – To be submitted by 20 August
- Approval by the Teacher’s Council
- Schooling contract signed by both parties
- Annual planning meeting with the homeschooling coordinator and parents to create the study plan
- The homeschooling journey begins!
